Position Summary The Billing Specialist is responsible for collecting, posting, and managing patient account payments. Responsible for submitting patient claims to insurance companies and following up on the claims with insurance companies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to operate a computer, computer software, and basic office equipment
Knowledge of medical billing/collection practice
Understanding a variety of different Explanation of Benefits
Ability to work and thrive in pressure situations
Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills
Ability to work independently and to produce prompt, accurate reports.
Exceptional time management
Aptitude to be cross trained and learn other business office positions
Ability to learn required software applications
Previous medical billing experience in hospital or other health care setting
Experience working with medical payers
