In order to have the top-notch oral health and beautiful smile you deserve, you need to take good care of your toothbrush. If you have an effective and successful smile-cleaning tool, you will have the best chance at achieving your oral health and smile goals. To help you keep your toothbrush in the best condition possible, our team recommends that you do the following things:

-Rinse your toothbrush: Rinse your smile-cleaning tool with tap water after you are done brushing your teeth. This is important because it will help you wash away the saliva, toothpaste, and bacteria that linger on your toothbrush bristles.

-Let your toothbrush dry: When you are done rinsing your toothbrush, make sure you store it in an upright position to air dry. This is important because if you place your wet toothbrush in a closed area, the bacteria will breed and take over your toothbrush bristles. We also recommend keeping your toothbrush away from other toothbrushes. That way their bristles won’t touch and transfer germs.

-Take care of your toothbrush while traveling: Try to keep your toothbrush in a plastic toothbrush container while traveling. Keeping it in the container will help protect the bristles and will keep them from being smashed or flattened. However, please do not put the brush immediately back into the container after brushing. It will need to dry first.

If you do these things, you will have the oral hygiene tool you need to have the best and healthiest smile. To learn more about toothbrush care, please call our office and schedule an appointment with your dentist, Dr. Rai. Our friendly dental team is thrilled to help you in any way we can!
