THIS IS A 3 Days a Week in the Office Role

Location : Garner, IOWA

Fulltime

Summary:

Plans, organizes, and controls one or more Industries product lines from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Product Management

• Develops overall product strategy, research & development requirements, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products

• Coordinates product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production

• Manages day-to-day progress of product

• Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development

• Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions.

• Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities

• Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product

• Coordinates and develops marketing and sales plans for product line; coordinates engineering and financial plans with respective department heads or designees

• Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition

• Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.

• Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in company’s industry

• Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors

• Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden company’s product line

• Provides overall sales support for the product line including coordinating with appropriate resources the development of sales training and support material

• Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product line

• Set and track product objectives and goals

• Participate developing and implementing improvements in the Product Development Process

• Report on product metrics and implement improvements

• Support the preparation of annual and long-range sales forecasts

• Liaise with Sales and Marketing to ensure brand consistency and increase sales

Strategic Planning:

• Research competition to identify threats and opportunities

• Monitor and analyze industry trends and market changes

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• The position of Product Manager will have constant interaction with all levels of the organization as well as customers and suppliers

• Proven work experience in product management, sales, marketing or engineering

• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in machinery development and associated technologies

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Strong leadership skills

• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams at all levels

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Individual must have a good understanding of, and show implementation of, Industries policies and procedures

Education and/or Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude

• High School Degree or GED required

• BA or BS degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable

Travel:

• Some overnight travel by car or air is expected which may include week-ends according to sales development and national trade show needs

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL license is a plus

Language Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Good writing and communication skills
