Position: eDiscovery Analyst Location: Rahway, NJ Length: Open ended contract (we’ve placed consultants there for years) Pay: $17.00/hour W2 BOE (with room for growth) W2 Candidates Only, Corp-to-Corp Not Accepted by Client Job Description: eDiscovery is the process in which all documentation and electronic information (emails, electronic documents, etc.) are backed up and retained for future use by the Legal Department. In addition, eDiscovery is responsible for working hand in hand with Legal to produce this information in the future, should a legal reason arise. Responsibilities include backing up networks and laptops of employees who are no longer with the company, retaining both unstructured data (emails, etc.) and structured data (systems data, formal documentation, etc.), producing this data on demand for the legal department, and running QC on the data to ensure that the correct data set is being forwarded to Legal. Backing up hard drives to DVDs, imaging & ghosting of drives is also a big part of eDiscovery. The client has put into place a rigorous process which you will be expected to adhere closely to. Being that each consultant will be dealing with intellectual property and sensitive legal information, it is extremely important to adhere closely to the process. Main Work Streams of eDiscovery: Inventory Control: This is the process of collecting hard drives & other media (thumb drives, etc.), and labeling & logging the media for future assignments by the Data Retention team. Think of it as being a librarian: Looking at & logging the name of the book & then putting it back in its place for the reader to find (the reader being the data retention team). Data Retention: There are typically 3 sources of retention: email, laptop drives, & personal network drives. Data is collected from these 3 sources by an eDiscovery analyst & burned to a DVD, which is then stored in the DVD storage room. This entire process is to be followed strictly to Client’s standard operating procedures as any information stored out of place could cost the client millions of dollars. You sit on a bench with other eDiscovery analysts, plug in hard drives, collect the data, store the data, & repeat. Data Collection: This is the collection of the data as requested by legal. This is a very important process & must be followed strictly to Client’s standard operating procedures. No more or no less information may be collected than requested by the legal team. This is a process which the client sets and they expect no one analyst to reinvent the process, but rather simply follow it. Typically, a data collection team member will go to the section the DVD is stored in, retrieve the requested information (no more and no less), and deliver it to the Legal team. QA of Retention & Collection: Another eDiscovery analyst double checks all the work that you’ve done. Everything that is assigned to one eDiscovery analyst is also done by another analyst for quality assurance. This is a standard operating procedure by the client. Skills: 1-3 years of relevant technical PC/computer experience. Must be flexible, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and operate well in a team setting. Must have excellent communication skills and strict attention to detail. Willingness to follow well-defined workflows in a data production environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas
