Job Description - College of Business Graduate Career Coach (2502240) College of Business Graduate Career Coach Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time work experience in a career coaching and/or recruitment/talent acquisition role. Experience designing and delivering educational/training presentations. Experiencewith theuse of technology applications, such as online career research databases, career networking sites or web-based recruitment systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with college students to prepare them for the job market. Experience working with graduate business students. Experience delivering online workshops. Knowledge of job market trends for graduate business students. Brief Description of Duties: Stony Brook University is increasing career support for graduate students in the College of Business. This role will dual report to the College and to the Career Center, ensuring deep relationships within the academic verticals, and supported by extensive resources and corporate relationships in the centralized career service. You bring high energy, positivity, resourcefulness, adaptability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creative problem solving, as well as a growth mindset and student-centered philosophy to the career readiness and preparation of graduate business students for the workforce. You can work with a high level of independence, maintain confidentiality, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines. You are a collaborator, working with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Experience communicating with diverse audiences and cultures is important to this role. Direct Client Service: Provide individual and group career coaching for graduate students in the College of Business, who range in age and experience level and present a variety of career needs: exploration, experience, networking, and job search strategy. Utilize multiple methods of service delivery, including F2F and virtual. Programming: Design and implement F2F and online programs to scale career development support for graduate business students. Build positive relationships with the College of Business and the Career Center staff, as well as staff in Visa & Immigration Services. Outcomes Data & Reporting: Create and collect data on all student experiences, post-graduate outcomes, career readiness, skill acquisition, and other relevant metrics. Organize and analyze data to meet various reporting requirements, including accreditations, rankings, and other institutional needs. Build and maintain relationships with current students and alumni to facilitate the accurate and comprehensive collection of data. Monitor and ensure data integrity throughout the data collection and reporting processes. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission. Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. For this position, we are unable to sponsor candidates for work visas.
