Job Description
We are looking for a kind and reliable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our hospice care team. In this role, you will help patients who are near the end of life. You will give medications, help with daily care, and support patients and their families during a difficult time.
You will work under the direction of a nurse and be part of a team that includes doctors, social workers, and other caregivers. It is important to be gentle, patient, and respectful. Good communication and a caring heart are very important for this job.
This position is for someone who wants to make a difference by helping people feel comfortable, safe, and cared for in their final days.
Responsibilities:
• Give medications to patients as directed by a nurse
• Help patients with daily care, such as bathing, dressing, and moving safely
• Watch for changes in how the patient is feeling and report them to the nurse
• Keep records of the medications given and care provided
• Provide comfort and support to patients and their families
• Keep the patient’s space clean, safe, and peaceful
• Follow all safety and infection control rules
• Work together with nurses, doctors, and other team members
• Always treat patients with kindness, respect, and dignity
Qualifications:
• Must have a current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) license or certification in New Jersey
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car (this is a travel position)
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED • Previous experience in hospice, home care, or a healthcare setting is helpful
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly • Must be kind, patient, and respectful with elderly and sick patients
• Able to work well with nurses and other team members • Must be reliable and on time for scheduled shifts
• Able to follow instructions and report changes in a patient’s condition
