Job Description

This position is for our client, a modern Japanese café-style dining establishment located in the heart of West Hollywood, CA. The General Manager (GM) will act as the CEO’s right hand and be responsible for the full scope of restaurant leadership—from daily operations to long-term strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have deep industry experience, a passion for hospitality, and strong familiarity with the local West Hollywood customer base. This role is suited for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering best-in-class guest experiences.

[Responsibilities]

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including floor management, service flow, and team coordination
  • Lead and supervise department heads, including the Floor Manager, BOH/FOH staff, and vendors
  • Ensure outstanding customer service and a memorable dining experience for every guest
  • Build and nurture relationships with the local West Hollywood community and clientele
  • Hire, train, and mentor staff, creating a culture of accountability and hospitality
  • Manage P&L, labor costs, budgets, and KPIs to meet financial targets and optimize performance
  • Maintain food quality, service standards, cleanliness, and health compliance at all times
  • Collaborate with the CEO on strategic decisions, branding, and growth opportunities
  • Uphold compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and licensing requirements
  • Take a hands-on leadership approach during peak service hours to ensure smooth execution

[Qualifications]

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in hospitality or restaurant leadership (industry experience required)
  • Strong operational expertise in high-end, boutique, or lifestyle hospitality settings
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple departments effectively
  • Deep familiarity with West Hollywood clientele and local market expectations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Financial acumen in P&L, budgeting, inventory, and labor cost control
  • Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual (English/Japanese) is a plus, but not required
  • Passion for hospitality, Japanese cuisine, and community-driven dining

[Compensation & Benefits]

  • $90,000–$150,000/year (Depending on Experience)
  • Full-time, exempt position
