Taking care of your smile doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are four ways you can take care of your smile.
Brush: Brush your teeth! There are no shortcuts–but luckily, it’s really easy to integrate into your daily routine. Brush using a soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle pressure, two times a day, for two minutes each time.
Floss: Floss once a day, with single-filament floss made specifically for that purpose. If conventional flossing is hard for you, talk with Dr. Rai for interdental cleaning alternatives.
Mouthwash: Therapeutic mouthwash may be a beneficial addition to the oral hygiene routine of some people. Be sure to look for the ADA Seal, and choose a mouthwash that does more than temporarily freshen your breath. If you need to avoid alcohol, be careful, as many types of mouthwash contain a lot of alcohol. Do not give mouthwash to children under 6.
Drink Water: Drink a lot of water. Fluoridated water is best, and is available to 75% of the United States. Fluoride is a substance that strengthens and renews tooth enamel and is present in some kinds of toothpaste.
These are simple habits that you can include in your day-to-day activity that will help keep your smile bright. For more information, call Rai Family Dentistry in Stafford, VA, at [phone]. Dr. Rai and our whole team will be happy to help!
